Advantech’s latest Ethernet switch receives CC-Link IE TSN conformance certification

The CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) has issued a CC-Link IE TSN conformance certificate to Advantech for its new industrial Ethernet switch, the EKI-8510G. This latest addition to the fast-growing portfolio of devices compatible with the CLPA’s leading network technology highlights the market demand for Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) in industrial automation applications.

The EKI-8510G managed TSN switch from Advantech, a leading industrial communications solution provider, meets the requirements for both Class A and Class B CC-Link IE TSN compatible devices. This means that it can offer various levels of performance to support a broad array of industrial applications.

By implementing CC-Link IE TSN network technology, the first open gigabit industrial Ethernet with TSN functions, the switch can handle high-speed, real-time, deterministic communications. As a result, it can address the requirements of even the most demanding short cycle time applications. Moreover, the switch enables data traffic convergence, ultimately driving the effective merging of information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) at the core of Industry 4.0 frameworks.

As a CLPA partner, Advantech’s selection of CC-Link IE TSN for this newest device follows the company’s ongoing and proactive involvement with the association and its initiatives to support businesses on their digital transformation. Jeff Brown, Associate VP of Sales at Advantech IIOT, says: “We are committed to the development of interoperable and robust industrial communications that help to enable companies to succeed in their digital transformation. The EKI-8510G TSN switch is designed to do just that, supporting time synchronisation and high bandwidth while minimising transmission latency and jitter thanks to CC-Link IE TSN.”

John Browett, General Manager of CLPA Europe, remarks: “It is a pleasure to welcome Advantech’s newest product to the continuously growing catalogue of devices compatible with CC-Link IE TSN. End-users can choose from an extensive range of industrial automation solutions to advance their operations and capabilities. Thanks to future-orientated companies like Advantech and their products, we can support end-users in developing highly interconnected systems that enhance their competitiveness.”
